From the artists:
"Technologies of intimacy" is a term we use to describe the ways that humans try to achieve proximity to one another: physical contact, shared responsibility, conversations. This exhibition, the product of a long-time collaboration, is a proposal for a new technology of intimacy: a sustained practice of measuring each other's body parts.
How can we define a relationship as a proportion? The objects and performances created in this exhibition are an attempt to apply objective systems of measurement to entirely subjective relationships. From uneven dumbbells, to pulley systems derived from the weight of our thighs, we are interested in the potential of the body as a site of cognitive research, looking inward to see how we can interact outwards."
